About

Christopher Kincaid testified for the defense on Day 11 about sharing a home with Ross Ulbricht for a couple of months before Ulbricht's arrest. He agreed that approximately August to October 2013 sounded right. Under questioning by Lindsay Lewis, he described meeting Ulbricht through a room advertisement, playing music together and socializing outside the home, including attending a birthday gathering and taking a long walk.

Kincaid also described a family visit that he estimated occurred two to three weeks before the arrest. He said Ulbricht was with his family whenever Kincaid was home, but acknowledged that his work prevented him from saying exactly how much time they spent together. The court overruled Timothy Howard's relevance objection and allowed the testimony to continue.

On cross-examination, Kincaid acknowledged that he had known Ulbricht only briefly, was at work on the arrest day and did not know what Ulbricht did for a living. Howard asked whether he had told an FBI agent that they barely spoke during their time as housemates. Kincaid did not recall making that statement, and a document shown to him did not refresh his memory. On redirect, Lewis returned to their shared activities. Kincaid confirmed that they attended parties, played music, walked and ate together, and clarified that he worked approximately 45 to 50 hours weekly, including weekends, with two weekdays off.
